Happy Anniversary!

35 years ago today my Grandpa Gerry & Grandma Lizzy got married. Congratulations!

And here's me with my grandparents in February when they came to see me. While they were here I got baptized (they even sang in the service!) and they helped my mom & dad remodel our office/den/guest room. I'm so glad they love me so much, and that they are so committed to loving each other and God too. What a great family I'm blessed with!

Questing for Boogies and Subsequent Tissue Disposal

Every time I see a tissue I insist on having one to blow my nose with. I just scrunch up my nose and mouth and blow out through my nose till mom or dad gets it. Every now and then I get something in the tissue, which is a bonus. Then my parents are very proud of me.
The tissue gets crumpled sorta quickly. I guess I'm not very gentle with it.
Yeah, I guess I'm really not gentle with it. Shredding tissues is almost as fun as blowing into them!

And THROW! Messes are fun.
Although I did try to throw the little pieces away after a while. Mom put the trashcan up out of my reach though. I try to be helpful, but sometimes the trashcan is fun to dump out. There are all sorts of great things in there - pieces of paper, mail, and old tissues. I don't understand why mom doesn't want me to be able to reach it. Maybe she'll explain when I'm older.

Balloon! Bah-ool! Balloo-ah!

There is just nothing better than having a balloon in each hand. I even have three different words I use interchangeably for these fabulous toys - how can so much joy be limited to one word?
Unfortunately, they aren't as permanent as some of my other toys. A few days ago one of my balloons popped (it was a blue one) and I cried. It's sad to me. I mourned its loss by saying "balloon! Balloon!" over and again through my big fat baby tears. It was just about the most tragic thing I have ever experienced.
Although it's very sad to me when either mom or dad leaves the house too. I don't like it, now that I realize they have the ability to leave.

Peanut Butter Lipstick

Mom had the camera at the ready today, so you can see my peanut butter lipstick. First you can see me as I apply it, and then you see me craning up towards mom for a kiss. She fake-kissed me, and didn't actually get the yummy peanut butter flavor. I put it there as much for her sake as for my own fun, but I'm not sure she appreciates it the way I hope she does.

Food Fun

I'm in a phase of life where I find myself loving the experience of food. I love to squeeze it and throw it, smear it and shovel it, see what it feels like in my ear and on my head, and sometimes I like to eat it.

Earlier today I gave myself peanut butter lipstick - mom loves that game. She makes me toast (or sometimes it's just bread, as I'm not always patient enough to wait for the toaster to pop) and slathers peanut butter all over it - my favorite! She cuts it into pieces and hands me two - always two at a time. I don't like to have a free hand when I'm supposed to be eating. Dad always gives me three pieces at first: one for me to shove in my mouth right away (whole), and one for each hand to hold. Up until a few days ago I would eat this treat somewhat normally, but lately I've found out how fun and sticky peanut butter is. One of my favorite things to do with it now is to wipe the peanut buttery side of the toast all over my mouth and then suck the peanut butter off my lips. Sometimes I set the toast on my tray peanut butter side up and then "dip" other things in it, like crackers or dried fruit. Unfortunately my dad had brought the camera to work to take some pictures of tile he'd installed, so mom couldn't capture that one to share with you.

The picture included here is from dinner tonight. I really liked the buttered biscuits, and they were fun to smear on my face and head too. I got very buttery. Dad said I should watch out b/c mom already wants to gobble me up, so by smearing butter all over I just got tastier. The real fun tonight was with the macaroni noodle salad though. I liked sucking the flavor off the noodles & then spitting them back out. The best part about the noodles was holding a few in each hand and squeezing really hard, as you can see above. Mom & dad both laughed, but they didn't try it themselves.

Do you realize what you're missing, folks? Noodle squeezing is a good game!

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! I'm currently almost 1 1/2 years old, and mom finally decided to start keeping track of all my new "tricks" in a place that would be easy to find & read & share. There will probably be pictures posted regularly too. Today I don't have much to say, but I wanted to show off how cute I am in my puppy dog towel. My parents laugh a lot when I bark at myself in the mirror after a bath.
