Talking

A few new things I like to say:

"he-ew" (spoken quickly, with a nasal first syllable) is "shoe." I love shoes. I like to wear mom & dad's shoes around the living room, and I always like to wear my own shoes.

"huh-loo-ey" is "hello" and I especially say it when I play with my phone.

4th of July

You can read about what we did on the 4th of July on my mom's page, but here are a few pictures of me from that day. As we were lining up for the parade & dad was slathering me with sunblock, I decided the chairs in the back of the truck seemed way more fun than my stroller. I got to play with a few rainbow beach balls and ride up high for a little while - and that was really fun.
After we got a little ways onto Bullard, which is the main street downtown, mom decided I might like to walk. Dad handed me out of the truck & then got out to walk with me too. I can't take very big steps, so even though the parade wasn't moving really fast I'd sometimes get behind. Dad would scoop me up, run up to the front of the truck and then put me down to walk. I'd wave at all the friends on the curbs who were waving & smiling at me - that was really fun. Meanwhile the rest of our PFLAG friends & family would keep going, and pretty soon we'd be at the back of the pack again. Dad would scoop me up & run to the front again. The women in the back of the truck had bubble machines, so it was really fun to see all the "balls" floating through the air at me when we walked behind them. I loved this part of the parade.
I started to get pretty hot & sleepy after a while though. That parade is just long enough - I made it, but I was tired. Dad probably got tired of carrying me too, but we still had fun. I was the youngest one in our parade group, so I got lots of attention.
I'm already an LGBT ally. "And someday, when we grow up, it's all gonna be that simple." (from Swing Set by Andrea Gibson)

Socks

I like socks and shoes. I like to try on mom's socks & shoes when I find them, and I try to put my own on too. I found a pair of mom's socks in a pile of clean laundry a few days ago and started to try to put them on myself. Mom helped after a minute. Soon after this, I found some of my own socks to play with too. And then I insisted on having my shoes put on over the big socks. Fun times!
